For parents

Helping you to support your young person

Thank you for visiting our website. We know how distressing it can be when a young person is struggling to access education.

ALP is a small, not-for-profit learning centre based just outside Waterbeach. We offer part-time (usually three half days per week) placements at our centre for learners who are unable to access mainstream school.

Many of our learners' placements are organised and funded by commissioning schools but sometimes systems don't work and parents need to step in. If you are a parent exploring options for your son or daughter, you can find out more about us in the Cambridgeshire Alternative Provision Directory under "Youth Centres":

We are a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting learners (and their families) who have "fallen through the net". We are sometimes able to access funding to help families who cannot afford the full cost. If you think that ALP might be able to help your son or daughter but are held back by your financial situation, please contact us.
