A Learning Place

Supporting you on your journey

Welcome!  We hope to meet you in person soon...

A Learning Place (ALP for short) is a small not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting learners who need a little help.  Our lovely centre in Waterbeach offers part-time placements for young people struggling to access mainstream education.

Our team is headed up by Amy, an experienced Alternative Provision teacher, specialising in Maths. Between us, we have had decades of experience and have enabled many young learners to flourish.

Whatever your attainment level; whatever the gaps in your learning, our gentle, learner centred approach will help you to access and enjoy education.

How we can help

We have a wealth of experience in empowering young people:

"Thank you so very much for every single one of your efforts with my daughter.  I cannot begin to express the incredible impact you have had on her life and I am so very grateful to have found you, your skills, expertise and unique understanding of the situation, the system and how to support her."

"Thank you again for everything you have done for my son.  When he came out of school, he was very under confident as well as really struggling to focus and concentrate.  Once he started working with you, he came to love learning.  We are so so happy and very grateful for all the support you have given him."

"Carry on doing the wonderful work you do. The young people will never know how lucky they are to have such a wonderful working environment. Thank you so much for everything you have done. My son would love to tell me about all the wonderful work and activities he did that day! You gave him the chance to get back to the person he was. He has thrived being with ALP. "
